Hail, I am Lord (Not really, Probably better to say "The Evil") Potter and...am not good at role-playing, and prefer not
to. If you do play Ultima Online (UO), there is a chance that you will
find me, I mainly play on Lake Superior, sometimes others, but not often.
In this section of my web-page, you will find information about UO, and
some pictures from some of my adventures, strange experiences, and pictures of friends and other stuff.
For those of you that don't know, Ultima Online is an on-line game where
100's of people can play at the same time. More people usually makes the
game more fun, but it also creates a lot of lag (usually). In Ultima Online
you can train your character in several skills, but beware of the skill/stat cap.
Meaning that you cannot make your character the best in everything, which is kind
of annoying. 100 is the best you can get in anything, which you probably could
have guessed, so since the skill cap is...I think its 700 or so, I don't remember
exactly. That means that you can only have 7 skills at 100...or so you would think.
There is no way to get all other skills to 0 so that can happen, which really sucks.
The most I've seen someone have was 6 skills of 100 (100 being Grand Master).
And just like skills, you can't get you character's stats (Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence)
too 100 in all either (unless on a test server). I think the most you can get is 225-230 (Example:
100 str, 100 dex, 25 int)
There is a 5 character limit to a server per account, so you can't have 10 characters on 1 server.
To me, and a lot of people, the most annoying thing is the $10 per month. Which is too much, in my
opinion since they game has tons of bugs, and it could be made a lot better, if they decided to work.
Something I saw on
AMT (Another Mad Tower)
had something in one of their comic strips "100,000 people are playing...$10 a month = $1,000,000" you think
with them getting that much money, they can say something other than "We are working on it". Ok, enough of
my complaining...there are several skills that can be "learned" in UO, mining, blacksmithing, lumberjacking,
tailoring, carpentry, fishing, cooking, lockpicking, cartography, magery, there are several others including the
fighting skills.
If by some chance me talking about Ultima Online gets you interested in buying it, think before you do...about
$60 or so for the game, probably another $50 or so for the expansion (different monsters, new land)
thats $110 right there, the first month is free, but after that it's $10 a month, play for a year $120.
Theres $230 spent on a game, and take in mind that it usually takes a lot of time to build up a good, character, and
learn the game.
